STUDIO Kotsuhiroi
is a working space where artistic research unfolds through material,
time and shared practice.
FR/EN
Kotsuhiroi develops an atelier-gallery conceived as a space for research and experimentation, directly connected to the artistic process.
This space is neither a permanent exhibition venue nor a conventional commercial gallery, but a working environment where forms can be tested, displaced, revisited, or left unresolved.
The studio operates as a chamber of transformation, where time, material, and perception remain open.
At certain moments, the space opens to small-group studio sessions, extending this research through shared practice and transmission.
Atelier de recherche — Spring Sessions
Studio Sessions
A very small-group research atelier within the artist’s studio, in Grosrouvre, near Montfort-l’Amaury (France 78).
A session conceived as a time for practice, attention, and experimentation.
This session is open to those already engaged in an artistic practice rooted in the long term, as well as to those who feel the desire to begin or deepen such a path.
It is a space of construction:
the shaping of material into an individual language.
How does material become language?
How does gesture reveal thought?
At the heart of this encounter:
the reflection of the self through intertwined actions,
a singular path of research unfolding over time.
Listening to cycles, to seasons,
as a necessary rhythm within the work.
Being oneself through inner listening,
acting through a formed gesture,
unfolding a language of research.
Material as the essence of expression.
Exchange as a score —
for transmission,
for listening.
Writing new forms of expression
in the light of the self.
⸻
A long-term approach, with sessions every two weeks, allowing for the gradual development of each participant’s practice over the year.
Materials and processes emerge through the work itself, guided by individual trajectories and the specific needs of each practice.
Clay, wood, lacquer (urushi), textile, ink, or more raw materials may be brought into play, transformed, assembled — with, when necessary, passages through fire.
3-hour sessions — €90
Small group — 4 participants
Participants may bring their own basic tools (paper, pencils, etc.).
A material contribution may be requested depending on the projects and materials involved.
