Cannibal Hymn 01 is not a representation of a skull, but a site of inscription.
Matter receives writing; fire imposes its own.
Language is engraved until it partially disappears beneath carbon. Meaning is no longer stable: it shifts, fractures, fossilizes. Fire acts as an indifferent force, inscribing a non-human memory onto a human form.
The skull ceases to function as a symbol. It becomes a device.
A receptacle where language, matter, and transformation overlap.
What remains is neither the body nor the message, but the trace.
Cannibal Hymn names this process of reciprocal absorption:
form ingests language, matter consumes prayer.
